But I have a life-long pattern of deciding to do some self-improvement thing and doing it for a few days or weeks and then having life sweep me away into other things, all compelling. It seems blogging has suffered a similar fate. I have at least four blogs now, all of them inactive until today...
So what's changed? I've been reading HERE COMES EVERYBODY by Clay Shirky and it has made me realize that the approach of sending occasional articles to my mailing list and posting a few things on my website is way behind the curve, especially since 99% of what I write never makes it to either venue, but lies around in electronic or paper notes. Blogging -- if I can get the hang of it -- will enable lots more stuff to get out there and, if I move out into the world of other blogs, will have a chance to be seen.
And I've found out I can email postings like this to my blog, which fits in with my normal way of writing (using my email program as a word processing program...).
So here we go with another try....
